A Message from Bill Dodd
Dear Neighbor,
Being your senator and working each day to advance our communities and state is the greatest honor of my professional life. It’s bittersweet to reach this moment, as my last day in office approaches.
I ran for the Assembly back in 2013 because I was so grateful for the opportunities I had growing up. My mom instilled in me the responsibility to “leave a place better than I found it,” and that’s what I’ve tried to do with California over the last decade.

SACRAMENTO – Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, issued the following statement today on a report from the Legislative Analyst’s Office on California’s fiscal outlook for 2025:
“We took real action this year to balance next year’s budget and set up the incoming Legislature for a more successful budget year,” Sen. Dodd said. “But we’re not out of the woods yet. I urge policymakers to exercise restraint and be cautious with any new spending. We need to focus on efficiency and appropriately funding all critical government services.”
