Sen. Dodd Issues Statement on PG&E Leadership Changes

Wednesday, April 3, 2019

SACRAMENTO – Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, made the following statement today on the announcement from Pacific Gas and Electric Co. that it is appointing Bill Johnson, former head of the Tennessee Valley Authority, to lead the utility as chief executive officer, and a slate of 10 new directors:

“PG&E is in critical need of leadership that will put safety first and build public trust,” Sen. Dodd said. “The existing board has lacked credibility, and I have been calling for changes for months. It’s incumbent on any new board members to create a corporate culture of safety. The proof will be in actions and results, not words or symbolic gestures.”
