Wednesday, August 21, 2019

SACRAMENTO – Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa issued the following statement today before the fifth anniversary of the South Napa earthquake, which occurred on Aug. 24, 2014, killing one person, injuring hundreds more and causing up to $1 billion in damage:

“So much has happened in the last five years, but we shouldn’t overlook how destructive this earthquake was and how far we’ve come in recovery,” Sen. Dodd said. “It’s a shining example of a community coming together and bouncing back. It’s heartening to see such resilience. The anniversary is also an opportunity to remind everyone to prepare for the next earthquake.”
