Thursday, March 12, 2020

SACRAMENTO – Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, released the following statement today on official efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus by limiting large public gatherings, social distancing and continued frequent hand-washing:

“We must follow the direction of experts at the California Department of Public Health, who have deemed it prudent for the time being to halt exposure to large groups of people,” Sen. Dodd said. “Our actions must be dictated by science and facts in order to limit the spread of this virus and ensure the public’s well-being.

“This is an issue that Gov. Newsom and state policymakers are taking seriously and thoughtfully. It’s important to reiterate that simple steps like properly washing your hands and maintaining social distancing are critically important.”
