SACRAMENTO – Legislation advanced today from Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, that would increase accountability and oversight in the resolution of sexual harassment and violence cases on California State University campuses.

SACRAMENTO – Legislation from Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa advanced today that would allow the continuation of 50-50 raffles at major league sports stadiums – an important fundraising tool for nonprofits.

“Charitable raffles provide an important funding stream for a host of organizations benefitting youth and the underserved,” Sen. Dodd said. “Over the years, these raffles have raised millions for a diverse group of charitable organizations throughout the state.”

SACRAMENTO – Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, chair of the Senate Governmental Organization Committee, will lead an oversight hearing Tuesday on California’s response to wildfires, detailing efforts to safeguard the state and make it more resilient.

The committee will review improvements to wildfire preparedness and prevention including significant legislation and investments that have been undertaken over the past five years. It will also listen to reports from various state and local agencies including Cal Fire and the Legislative Analyst’s Office, and take public comment.
