SACRAMENTO – A bill from Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, to extend a pilot program in Napa and San Bernardino counties that helps prevent urban sprawl and protects natural resources has cleared the Legislature today and heads to Gov. Gavin Newsom for his signature.

“Today we’ve taken a step toward preserving agricultural land and open space in Napa County,” Sen. Dodd said. “I appreciate support for this commonsense measure that will extend necessary services while reducing the need for new wells or septic systems.”

WALNUT GROVE – For more than 100 years, Giusti’s Place has served the people of Walnut Grove and the surrounding Delta community authentic Italian food while supporting nonprofits and youth sports teams with volunteer time and donations. In recognition of their community impact, Giusti’s and owner Mark Morais have been named Sacramento County Small Business of the Year by Sen. Bill Dodd.

NAPA – For nearly 30 years, Napa Valley Jewelers and owners Kent and Terri Gardella have devoted themselves to helping the community. Their commitment to improving the lives of so many people has earned them the Small Business of the Year award for Senate District 3 by Sen. Bill Dodd.

SONOMA – With the goal of reducing plastic waste, Jana Wang, co-owner of Refill Madness Sonoma, opened her shop during the pandemic, giving customers a safe place to fill their own containers with household goods such as soaps and lotions. For her effort to keep tons of plastic from local landfills, her store has been named Sonoma County Small Business of the Year for 2021 by Sen. Bill Dodd.
