Tuesday, March 8, 2022

SACRAMENTO – Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, issued the following statement today regarding Gov. Gavin Newsom’s annual State of the State address, which detailed California’s strong economic and budgetary condition, highlighted achievements and outlined goals for the year ahead:

“Thanks to sound fiscal management and widespread compliance with public health orders, including the willingness of tens of millions of people to get vaccinated, California is on the upswing from the pandemic,” Sen. Dodd said. “California continues leading the nation and setting a global example. Gov. Newsom laid out a vision of opportunity and equity, economic recovery and environmental justice. These include assistance to offset gas prices, bolster public education and new resolve to tackle climate-change and homelessness. At the same time, we are looking beyond our borders, taking important steps to fight Russian tyranny and support the Ukrainian people. I look forward to working with the governor and my legislative colleagues on carrying out a vision to ensure a brighter future for all.”
