Sen. Dodd Issues Statement on Senate Appointments

SACRAMENTO – Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, issued the following statement today upon the appointment of new Senate committee chairs by Senate President pro Tem Mike McGuire, D-North Coast. Sen. Dodd will continue to lead the Senate Governmental Organization Committee, a post he has held for eight years, and serve as a member of five other committees, including one new committee.ly eight years.

“In his first major decision since assuming the Senate’s top spot, Sen. McGuire has really hit it out of the park,” Sen. Dodd said. “These assignments reflect the diversity and talent in our caucus, and they ensure the Senate will work effectively and efficiently for the people of California. I look forward serving in my roles and supporting my friend Sen. McGuire as he leads the Senate to tackle our most pressing issues.”

In addition to chairing the Senate Governmental Organization Committee, Sen. Dodd continues to serve on the Business, Professions and Economic Development Committee, the Energy, Utilities and Communications Committee, the Insurance Committee and the Transportation Committee. Today he was added to a sixth committee -- the newly formed Senate Revenue and Taxation Committee.
