Senator Cabaldon Responds to Solano Board Vote on Collinsville Shipbuilding

“As Solano County’s representative in the State Senate, I appreciate the rich diversity of values heard by the Board of Supervisors yesterday as it considers how to promote sustainable economic development and job growth, including shipbuilding opportunities at Collinsville,” said Senator Cabaldon. “The Board's decision not to advance enabling legislation this year must be respected. These provisions emerged because many community, business, and labor leaders declared their support for a Collinsville shipbuilding project, while recognizing the county could not make basic zoning changes to build it without changes in state law. But this is a choice for Solano County and its people to make.”
