Sen. Dodd’s Statement on Pandemic Anniversary

Thursday, March 11, 2021

SACRAMENTO – Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, issued the following statement today regarding the one-year anniversary of the coronavirus pandemic in California:

“It has been a year of sorrow for the lives lost and struggle for families facing layoffs, distance learning and social distancing from loved ones,” Sen. Dodd said. “But it’s also been a year of heroism and selflessness. Physically, we’ve been forced apart, but we’ve also come together in so many ways to meet this challenge.”

“As Harry Truman said, America was built on courage, on imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand,” Sen. Dodd said. “Those words are as true today as when he uttered them in the middle of the last century. Our work is paying off, and there’s reason for optimism. Vaccines become more available every day and infections are declining. We must still do our part to continue our progress and continue working to build back.”
