SACRAMENTO – Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, issued the following statement today regarding the announcement from Marybel Batjer, president of the California Public Utilities Commission, that she would step down from her position at the end of this year.

“Gov. Newsom's appointment of President Batjer was the right person at the right time,” said Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa. “It was a massive undertaking to ensure PG&E was properly regulated and held accountable. She made a lot of progress and obviously there is still more to do to ensure Californians have the energy grid and telecommunications they deserve. It's important that work continues under the next president.”
