Sen. Dodd Issues Statement on Governor’s Water Storage Initiative
SACRAMENTO – Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, issued the following statement today on the announcement from Gov. Gavin Newsom that he would accelerate the Sites Reservoir project, significantly increasing the state’s storage capacity and avoiding months of delays:
“Thanks to Gov. Newsom for taking a critical step forward to making Sites Reservoir a reality. By streamlining permitting, cutting red tape and allowing state agencies to accelerate timelines for this important water retention project, we could add enough new storage capacity to meet the needs of 3 million households’ yearly usage. It will help our residents and our environment.”
