SACRAMENTO – Legislation from Sen. Bill Dodd, D-Napa, to increase conservation on California’s more than 76,000 farms and ranches by offering incentives and technical assistance for adopting practices that help wildlife and the environment cleared a key committee today.
“California must continue to lead the nation in encouraging farmers and ranchers to pursue conservation efforts, allowing people and the environment to reap the benefits,” Sen. Dodd said. “Good stewardship of rural lands is crucial to the sustainability and economic vitality of our state.”
