SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Bill Dodd (D-Napa) and Senator Mike McGuire (D-Healdsburg) announced Thursday that the state legislature’s Budget Conference Committee included $1 million for Clear Lake in their approved state budget for 2015-16. Senator McGuire and Assemblymember Dodd have been collaborating since early this year to secure greater investment in environmental protection and restoration of Clear Lake.

SACRAMENTO, CA –Assemblymember Bill Dodd (D-Napa) has authored a resolution proclaiming June as Elder and Vulnerable Adult Abuse Awareness Month. The resolution passed the Assembly with bipartisan support and is now scheduled to be heard in the state Senate.

SACRAMENTO - Assemblymember Bill Dodd (D-Napa) addressed the Assembly Budget Subcommittee on Resources and Transportation in a continued attempt secure much needed funding to help protect and improve Clear Lake. In response, the subcommittee approved $1 million in funds to be included in the Assembly Budget for 2015-16.

SACRAMENTO, CA – Every year during Holocaust Remembrance Week the state Assembly holds a special ceremony and recognizes a Holocaust survivor, liberator, or a child of a survivor from each Assembly district. This year, Napa resident Irving “Irv” Baum was selected to receive this recognition on behalf of the 4th Assembly District of California.

SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Bill Dodd’s resolution urging President Obama to create the Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument passed the Senate on Monday and is on its way to the President’s desk. The establishment of the Berryessa Snow Mountain region as a national monument would help safeguard the area, enhance visitation, and provide an economic boost to the surrounding communities.

Northern California – With taxes due at midnight on April 15, Assemblymember Bill Dodd (D-Napa) today reminded constituents that assistance is available for many of those needing help with their tax returns.

The California Franchise Tax Board sponsors a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program and a Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program to help individuals with limited income and seniors complete their income tax returns. Additionally, the United Way offers assistance through its “Earn It! Keep It! Save It!” program.

SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Bill Dodd voted Thursday to enact badly needed drought relief legislation. The package, which was unveiled last week by Governor Brown, Senate President pro Tem de León, and Assembly Speaker Atkins, passed with bipartisan support, and now goes to the Governor for his signature.

“The impacts of the drought have been felt especially hard in our District,” said Assemblymember Dodd. “Passing this emergency drought relief package was a critical move towards protecting our water supply, and consequently, our economic and environmental security.”
