A Message from Senator Bill Dodd

Dear Neighbor,

This month I hosted a series of immigration forums across the district. I have received hundreds of calls and emails this year from residents concerned about federal immigration action and immigrant rights, and I appreciate the hundreds of people who turned out to the events. If you were unable to attend, you can view a video of one of the forums here.

April is Earthquake Preparedness Month. We know that earthquakes can and will happen throughout our state. While we can't stop them, we can prepare.

A Message from Bill Dodd

Last month, I co-hosted healthcare town halls across our district to answer your questions and your hear concerns. Over the next month, I will be hosting a series of immigration forums. I have received hundreds of calls and emails this year from residents concerned about federal immigration action and immigrant rights.

These forums will bring together immigration experts, resource providers and local officials provide answers about the law, pending policies, and resources available to immigrants. I hope you can attend one of our upcoming events.

It is critical that California maintains and expands our progress towards affordable healthcare coverage for all, environmental stewardship, educational opportunity, and protections for immigrants.

I've received hundreds of calls and emails from constituents concerned about what repeal of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) would mean for their families. This month I co-hosted healthcare town halls across our district to answer your questions and your hear concerns. If you have a question and were unable to attend, please visit my website to submit your question online. This year it is critical that California maintains and expands our progress towards affordable healthcare coverage for all, environmental stewardship, educational opportunity, and protections for immigrants.

February is Black History Month, which is a time to reflect on the immense contributions African Americans have made and continue to make to our nation, as well as the ongoing struggle for civil rights, equal opportunity and prosperity.

A Message from Bill Dodd

I hope your New Year is off to a great start. This month I introduced legislation to combat fake news by teaching media literacy in our schools. We need to support public education and empower our young people to make informed decisions. Governor Brown recently released his draft budget and gave his annual State of the State Address. I will be working to build our rainy day fund while investing in public services that are vital for the future of our state, like education and roads. We need to defend the progress we’ve made in recent years and continue moving in the right direction.

A Message from Bill Dodd

As 2016 draws to a close, I want to thank you for the opportunity to serve you and be your advocate in the state Capitol. This month I was sworn in to represent our Senate district in Sacramento, and I introduced a new bill to protect consumers from fraud.

This year we have made meaningful progress in a number of areas. We’ve invested more in education, built our budget reserves, supported small business, and helped protect our environment. However, there is still much work to be done. As we look towards the New Year, I will continue fighting for policies that improve our quality of life – now and for future generations.
